Demoing upgrade?

I have a Plustek 7500i that came with Silverfast SE 6.6. I'm considering upgrading to AI, mostly for the better iSRD controls (I'm not really happy with the results I'm currently getting for dust and scratch removal). Is it ok (i.e. will it break anything) to download and install a demo of SF 6.6 Ai to see if it would provide me much of an improvement? If I do that, will my licensed version of SE still continue to work?

Dear Customer,

as SilverFast SE and Ai are different applications you can install both parallel on one Computer, so ou can try the Ai Demo while the SE version remains working.
