Confirmation about Q factor

Postby billy7171 » Tue Jan 24, 2012 8:15 pm

Sorry to ask yet another question about Q factor, but the only way I can change from using Epson Scan and NikonScan to SilverFast is if I confirm that we can keep scanning with the exact same pixel dimensions we have been using. For all our photos, we scan 600 ppi and set the long dimension to 10 inches, so we end up with 6000 pixels in the long dimension. I just want to make sure that in SilverFast I can set the resolution to 600 DPI, set the long dimension to scale to 10 inches, and then set Q factor to 1.0 and screen to 600 LPI. This will make our new scans consistent with the old (whereby no Q factor or Screen adjustments were set), is that correct? Thank you so much. We look forward to incorporating SilverFast in our workflow for various scanners.
