can't set custom PPI/resolution in silverfast (negative scanning)

Hey Guys - new user here so I'm stumbling through the software.

Hoping to scan some BW negatives and I'm not able to set a custom PPI - I'm using a v850 and for some reason when I set it to a higher resolution (when using the slide bar) it won't actually scan at that and will scan to the preset, which is lower resolution than what I'm hoping. Any help is appreciated!

Dear user,

The scan is always performed using the resolution set by the slider.
The Preset is only used for the metadata stored in the file for printing and displaying in other software.
