can't choose negative scaning/functions locked to basic

When i start silverfast, teh scanning option are locked to positive and i cannot select negative mode or any other options as type of film etc...
Does someone know why?

Dear customer,

If you can not switch to transparency the most common reason is that the scanner has lost the connection to it's transparency unit.
Please shut down SilverFast and the scanner.
Then check the cable connecting the transparency unit in the lid to the scanner's chassis.
Disconnect and reconnect the cable.
Then start the scanner and SilverFast again.
The transparency mode should be back.
