Best parameters to go in LR?

Postby Mylek » Sun Feb 26, 2012 6:21 pm

Hello,
i'm back at scanning with a Minolta DSE 5400 under OS 10.6.8 and SF Ai Studio 6.6 with iT8.

I did a bunch of scan at different Q factor and Mutltiexp but cannot see much difference. What will be a good Gamma setting to use in the CMS. I'm opening and working my files in LR3. Since LR is working in ProPhoto space should i recalibrate my scanner and save the new profile in the same space.

Is it really better to scan at Q1.5 instead of 1.0?

Which relative intent is better? In all the SF docs, i always see Perceptual but i tought it wasn't the best because it might be moving data too much compare to the original.

Regards!

Dear Mylek,

the Q-factor is only important for the pre-press.
There is no "best setting for...", it always depends on the image and what you want to do with it.

Best regards
