I bought the Epson V750-pro with Silverfast AI, with the intent of scanning in thousands of my negatives and lots of old family photos and slides. I think both the scanner and software are terrific.
But, the problem is that Silverfast offers a whole slew of options, and I'm someone who will do most of my work in Photoshop. I don't want to become a Silverfast expect. Are there generic settings recommendations (or downloadable settings files) for, for instance:
general scanning of negatives (of diverse film brands and ISOs) with intent of printing to 4x6
highest quality scanning of negatives
general scanning of photos (all sorts, b&w as well as color) with intent of printing to 4x6
high quality scanning of photos
Although I am using Silverfast a lot, I'm really not sure if I am using the best options. I think the product would be far more user friendly if the kind of info I'm asking about was available. I'm hoping it is.
Thanks.
Are there standardized settings files

Re: Are there standardized settings files
Dear Imllin,
unfortunately there is no "best-setting-for-each-picture"-button in SilverFast. Every picture have its individual setting.
I think that a future version of SilverFast will have general settings like "scan for web", "scan for 4x6 prints", and so on.
Best regards
