I, and several friends, have Agfa Arcus II scanners. Fantastic scanners, a bit aged, but can do things that even current scanners don't do well, like descreening magazine- and newsprint-printed images perfectly. Agfa was great enough to provide us with OS X versions of Fotolook, but at Jaguar they stopped working. Can't reboot and use them in 9, since the OS X software upgrade to the SCSI card renders the card unusable in 9.
I've tried v**s**n, it works but is tremendously crippled. Only goes to 600ppi, descreening STINKS. Silverfast offers us hope, I was told there would be a version coming out soon for us, but have been told the timeline is uncertain. Support told me to post something here on the forums. Anyone have any news?

I am afraid to let your hope die, photony, but we do NOT have SilverFast OSX software for these scanners. The reason is that Agfa stopped support for their hard- and software. In order to adapt our Software to certain hardware, we need help from the manufacturer -- who is not in the business any more.
