Are the edits one performs to the prescan in Silverfast SE 6 performed at the 48 bit level? (I realize that SE does not EXPORT 48 bit).
If so, does it make sense to perform as much of the radical edit (histogram/curves/color balance) with Silverfast tools as possible, rather than in Photoshop after export?
Thanks,
Vic

Dear Victor,
SilverFast SE will internally use whatever dynamic range the scanner will supply. So as many corrections as possible should be done in SilverFast SE, since most significant corrections are downloaded to the scanner or applied based on 48 bit data (or whatever the scanner supplies). SilverFast SE is limited since it is intended for the entry level user while SilverFast Ai allows all corrections transferred into the 48 bit output file.
