Hi,

I would like to know, if possible, if SilverFast will be aviable for Mac OS X in the upcomming months for the scanner Reflecta ProScan 7200 since I saw in this post there were plans for releasing it in early 2010.

Dear Thomas,

In fact the original plans were to support the scanner under Mac OS X at the beginning of the year. However the driver we received from the manufacturer of the scanner is not very stable. We already contacted the scanner manufacturer on this respect and are still waiting for a corrected version of the driver to continue our work.

At this moment we do not have any specific date or time frame when this will happen. For that reason I can not exactly tell if we are to support the scanner in the upcomming months.

Is there any news on this? At the moment I run Silverfast for Windows in a VirtualBox hosted on a Mac, but I would prefer to run without that indirection as all the rest of my workflow is on OS X. And if there will be a Mac OS X version for the ProScan7200, will I be able to use my serial number or do I have to "upgrade" to the Mac version?

Dear Ruediger,

The problem is not due to SilverFast but directly in the scanner (or its driver). We have not received any news regarding this situation. If the problem was a mac version you would be able to download it with your actual Serial number.
