Re: Plustek 120 speed

Dear user,

The actual scan speed only depends on the resolution and tools that require more than one image (Multi-Exposure, iSRD).
The processing is done on multiple threads whenever possible.

Re: Resolution Setup for Colour Slides

Dear user,

You are currently creating 64Bit HDR(i) RAW archive files for processing in SilverFast HDR Studio. This is the setup for our Archive Suite solution.

Re: Negative to Positive scans

Again,

No, there is no misunderstanding on our side what the word raw means. Please check the Webster dictionary (Especially 2.c)if you do not know what the word raw means. This is not the .raw file format it simply is the word raw.

Kind regards,
Arne

Re: Batch scan improvement

Dear user,

Depending on your SilverFast version that is possible.
In SilverFast Ai Studio you can use the JobManager to select individual existing frames for batch scanning.
In SilverFast Se and SE Plus this, unfortunately, is not possible.

Re: Negative to Positive scans

Dear George,

Thank you for your feedback.
The Negative selection is necessary because it allows users to store the negative film type in the HDR(i) RAW images. The film type is stored in the metadata and automatically loaded in SilverFast HDR Studio.

Arne

Re: Printer Calibration for Epson XP-960?

Dear user,

The EPSON XP-960, unfortunately, is not supported by the SilverFast scanning software. You require a separate flatbed scanner to create color profiles for that.
Also, make sure the printer driver allows to disable the color management.

Re: MOVE TO NEW COMPUTER

Dear user,

Make sure you install the latest update from our website. You can directly install it. Our updates are always full installation files. Version 8.0 is too old for your operating system.
The necessary driver is included in the update.

Kind regards,
Arne

Re: Negative to Positive scans

One correction here.
The raw data in HDR(i) RAW files IS the real raw sensor data. The misunderstanding here is that the line sensors of a scanner directly creates valid RGB data. It does not require any complicated transformation like a digital camera's area sensor does.

Re: Maximum Resolution Nikon Scan LS50 ED V

Dear user the colors of the resolution slider are only for orientation. The maximum optical resolution is the second to last setting. Only the highest setting is interpolated. You should test various resolutions and check which one gives you all the details in the image. It is not always necessary t...

Dear user,

This is most likely a hardware issue. It sounds like your sensor system is misaligned. Please contact the device manufacturer.

Re: Negative to Positive scans

Dear Chris, there seems to be a misunderstanding. There is no .raw data output because scanners do not deliver that kind of data. They use a line sensor that delivers direct RGB data. They do not have a sensor like a digital camera which's raw data requires conversion to RGB. HDR(i) RAW files are th...
