Dear mkstudio

I suggest you want to download and install the latest update release of your version of SilverFast from our website. You might experience that this already does solve your problem.

If not, please don't hesitate to contact support: http://www.silverfast.com/problemreport/en.html
How to help support staff to help you: http://www.silverfast.com/faq/1058/en.html

Please note that the purpose of the imaging forum is not to provide personal support. It is intended to serve as a platform for imaging professionals for exchange of experience and communicating ideas [ viewtopic.php?p=9763&highlight=9763 ].
Therefore LSI staff will only provide limited support in the forum.

When you are posting a request for others or LSI in the forum instead, please make sure you are offering somewhat more information about your installation (like SF version, operating system, etc.).
Thank you in anticipation of your kind co-operation.

Anyway, here is a how-to to manually link SilverFast to Photoshop under
------------
Mac OS X
------------
Please create an alias to the SilverFast Photoshop plugin and put this in your Photoshop's Import-Export folder yourself.

The detailed description:
(1) Open your Finder / hard disk drive
(2) Navigate to /Applications/SilverFast Application
(3) Locate the Photoshop plug-in (an .8ba) file, probably in the sub folder "SilverFast (Scannername)"
(4) Create an alias to the plug-in there
An alias can be created by selecting the file and then choosing "Make alias" from the finder's "File" menu.
(5) Select the newly created alias and select "Copy" from the "Edit" menu
(6) Change to the folder /Applications/Photoshop/Plug-ins/Import-Export/
(7) Select "Paste" from the finder's "Edit" menu

This action should have created a shortcut in the import/export folder of Photoshop to the SilverFast Photoshop plug-in located in the SilverFast programme folder.

Restart Photoshop and check your File>Import plug-in list.

----------
Windows
----------
Please create a shortcut to the SilverFast Photoshop plugin and put this in your Photoshop's Import-Export folder yourself.

The detailed description:
(1) Open your Windows Explorer
(2) Navigate to C:\Program files\LaserSoft
(3) Locate the Photoshop plug-in (an .8ba) file, probably in the sub folder "SilverFast (Scannername)"
(4) Create a shortcut to the plug-in there (you might want to rename it (drop the "Shortcut to" at the filename's beginning).
(4.a) A shortcut is created by right-clicking the file and drawing the mouse cursor (while keeping the right mouse button pressed) to an empty space in the Windows' Explorer right panel.
(4.b) When you now release the right mouse button, a context menu will pop-up, select "Create shortcut".
(5) Right-click on the newly create shortcut and select "cut".
(6) Change directories to C:\Program files\Adobe\Photoshop CS\Plug-ins\Import-Export\
(7) Right-click on the empty space in the right Explorer panel and select "paste" from the context menu.

This action should have created a shortcut in the import/export folder of Photoshop to the SilverFast Photoshop plug-in located in the SilverFast programme folder.

Restart Photoshop CS and check your File>Import plug-in list.

Hope this helps :)

Best regards
