Dear dwhitebread, as i can see it there is no solution on the horizon as the problem is that minolta did not update its library/driver for this scanner to work with Leopard. As we use this driver to interface with the scanner this is currently a no-go !
Given there will not be an update to the Mac version beyond 6.4, and not wanting to invest further in Silverfast upgrades under Windows for the Minolta, I understand that a user can use either the Mac or Win Xp version under the license. How/where can I download the Win Xp 6.4 version, given 6.4 won't work on the current Mac system, so I can at least run the 6.4 version under an XP VM?
For you to have access to the update site you have to have registered your serial number previously on our website, if you haven't, you should then follow the next link: https://www.silverfast.com/reg/en.html
I don't know about "official" support, but I'm using SF AI Studio 6.6 with Minolta Dual Scan Multi Pro every day under Leopard (OS X 10.5.5 - it works fine as well with 10.5.8 but I cannot move beyond 5.5 due to Apple breaking support for monitor hardware calibration)
I have also tested it perfectly successfully under Snow Leopard.
Thanks for your information. It is glad that it works for you. However the scanner can not be officially supported because of the reason reported by Nils (our lead programmer).
We recommend all users that decide to operate their scanner using this combination to download and test the demo version of SilverFast beforehand. Not all scanners might work as described by drm.
Well yes, that's very good advice. I could be just lucky
Note that the Dimage Scan software works fine too under Snow Leopard, somewhat to my surprise. Hopefully it will all continue to work for a while yet, but clearly we're all at the mercy of Apple changing something significant which breaks the Minolta driver.
