Dear Oldbuzzard,

I think Win 7 does have an xp compatibility mode.

The problem in this case is not only if SilverFast can run in XP mode, I am sure it's possible. But the driver probably still won't work.
You can give it a try, but this kind of workaround is not officially supported by LaserSoft Imaging (unless indicated otherwise for your scanner model).
oldbuzzard wrote:If so, can you list order of installation / instruction on how to do it, and which Canon twain driver to use?
The installation should be carried out as usual. First the manufacturer driver, then SilverFast.
You must download and test the different drivers, we have heard from some other people, Windows 7 64 bits preventing 32 bit drivers from being installed, even if ran under xp compatibility mode.
You can download and install the latest version of SilverFast for Windows XP.
Cheers
